Guide or assistance dogs

Travelling with a guide or assistance dog? Your dog is transported free of charge, without the need for a ticket.

However, you must comply with the following conditions:

• Guide dog or assistance dog : you must justify the presence of your dog on board the train by presenting your French Mobility Inclusion card mentioning "invalidité" or "priorité" or your old French invalidity or priority card valid until 31/12/2026 or your "Réformé Pensionné de Guerre" card with two blue bars.
• Guide dog trainees in training : the dog's trainer must present his or her personal transport ticket, as well as the French guide dog trainer's card and the French identification card of the dog in training, showing the details of its foster family. During travel, student dogs must wear a working vest bearing the words "élève chien guide" or the logo of the training center.

In accordance with the law of February 11, 2005, you are not obliged to muzzle your guide or assistance dog if you have the document proving its education (national certificate of identification and education of the dog issued by the education centers). You must be able to present this certificate when you travel.

However, to ensure that your guide or assistance dog is easily identifiable, it is advisable to wear a harness, cape, saddlebags or any other attribute.

Please note that when traveling by sleeper train at night, you can only travel with your guide or assistance dog with the agreement of the other passengers. If your compartment neighbors refuse to allow your guide or assistance dog on board, the purser will do his best to find a satisfactory solution.

Please note that "emotional support" dogs are not considered "assistance dogs", and are therefore subject to the "pet" travel conditions.

Finally, when traveling abroad with your guide or assistance dog, check with the carrier concerned to ensure that your pet can accompany you.

When you buy your tickets, in the "Placement preferences" section, you can select 1st or 2nd class seats, known as "guide/assistance dog" seats.

These spaces are primarily intended for :

• any disabled person accompanied by a guide or assistance dog;
• any customer traveling with a guide dog in training (dog trainer or foster family).

These spaces are not intended for pets (including emotional support dogs).

Guide/assistance dog seats allow you to travel with your faithful companion in complete peace of mind.

They are located in places defined in collaboration with specialized associations and/or partners to ensure greater comfort for travelers with guide or assistance dogs (e.g. "back-to-back" seats that allow the dog to be placed in the space between the two seats, or seats at the back of the auditorium, out of the way of passenger traffic).

These spaces are subject to availability.

If they are not available at the time of booking, the Onboard Manager can help you find a more suitable place.

Please note that wheelchair spaces are not "guide dog/assistance" spaces.
