    Busy hours Monday to Thursday and Sunday

    • light traffic (recommended calling times): 12pm to 4pm
    • medium traffic: from 8am to 12pm and from 4pm to 6pm
    • very busy (long waiting times at the switchboard): from 6pm to 8pm

    Friday peak times

    • low volume (recommended calling times): 12pm to 4pm

    Do you need to contact us urgently?

    Dial 31 17 for a safety-related call (free from mobiles and landlines) or send us a text message (normal cost) to 31 17 7.

    These 2 lines operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, throughout the national rail network.

    3117 and 3117 7 are reserved for calls concerning safety, harassment, rescue and assistance, and must not be used for commercial requests.

    Terrorism

    The alert number service is open to the issue of terrorism. Operators have been specially trained to deal with this issue, and the calls concerned are handled and followed up specifically.
