Carte Avantage Adulte

1/ The cost is recouped from the third journey onwards (a single journey from the point of departure to the final destination), based on the discounts applied to Carte Avantage holders (Youth, Adult or Senior) and to any accompanying passengers (pro-rata for accompanied journeys), in first and second class, on all TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS services combined (excluding TER), between 1 January 2022 and 31 May 2022.

PRICE OF THE ADULT CARTE AVANTAGE: €49 incl. VAT

Price of the Carte Avantage Adulte (aged 27–59): €49. Price valid from 1 July 2024, excluding special offers. This pass is available to anyone aged 27 or over and up to the day before their 60th birthday, from which date the pass becomes valid (the pass remains valid for one year). Validity period: one year from the start date specified by the customer at the time of purchase. This date must fall within a maximum of 6 months from the date of purchase of the card, inclusive of that date. If the purchase is made after the customer’s 59th birthday, the validity period will therefore be less than one year. The card is non-refundable. Discount cards are available from TGV INOUI Service Desks at stations, from authorised SNCF Voyageurs travel agencies, or by telephone on 3635 (free service plus the cost of the call). The Carte Avantage Adulte entitles the cardholder and one accompanying person aged over 12 to a 30 per cent discount:

• on single journeys every day, provided the cardholder is travelling with a toddler (under 4 years old) or a child (aged 4 to 11 inclusive);
• on single journeys on Saturdays or Sundays;
• on return journeys including at least the night of Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

The maximum period between the outward and return journeys is 61 days and cannot be extended in the event of a ticket exchange.

Offer reserved for Carte Avantage holders, and one accompanying person aged over 12 for holders of the Carte Avantage Adulte 27–59 card. The discount is calculated, excluding any additional paid services, on the full second-class and first-class fares for trains requiring compulsory booking (TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS, excluding OUIGO) and for INTERCITÉS trains without compulsory booking. Discounts apply within France. The terms and conditions for TER services are the responsibility of the organising authorities and are available on the TER websites.

When purchasing a return journey with TER, the outward and return journeys must start from and end at the same stations in certain regions in order to benefit from the Carte Avantage Adulte discount. Example: TGV INOUI + TER on the outward journey (TER departing from station A / arriving at station B), then TER + TGV INOUI on the return journey (TER departing from station B / arriving at station A).

If eligibility for the Avantage fare is conditional on travelling with a child or toddler, the child or toddler must be present and in possession of a valid ticket (accompanying child ticket or toddler fare) during on-board ticket inspection. An accompanying adult who has benefited from a discount linked to the Carte Avantage fare must travel with the holder of the corresponding Carte Avantage.

The capped fares on TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS journeys (within France, in second class, during the day and/or in a reserved seat on night services), available with the Carte Avantage, were guaranteed until 31 August 2024. However, these fares remain in force for the time being. Calculated based on the average journey time for a direct journey without a connection, these fares are as follows:

• €49 incl. VAT: Guaranteed maximum price for a ticket on a journey of less than 1 hour 30 minutes,
• €69 including VAT: Guaranteed maximum price for a ticket for a journey between 1 hour 30 minutes and 3 hours,
• €89 including tax: Guaranteed maximum price for a ticket for a journey lasting more than 3 hours.

The price of tickets booked under the price cap scheme is guaranteed until the train’s departure, provided that the initial booking is not amended by the customer.

The Carte Avantage is valid for travel in France and Europe

Offer reserved for Carte Avantage holders. Discount calculated, excluding additional paid services, on the day’s second-class and first-class fares on TGV INOUI trains to Luxembourg and Freiburg im Breisgau, on TGV INOUI France - Spain, and on TGV INOUI and ICE trains operated by DB-SNCF in partnership; on the Seconda or Prima (second or first class) daily fare on TGV France–Italy services; and on the Standard or Standard Première fares on TGV Lyria trains.

The card entitles you to a 60 per cent discount for accompanying children

Offer limited to a maximum of three accompanying children aged 4 to 11 inclusive, provided the ticket is purchased at the same time as the Carte Avantage cardholder’s ticket. The discount is calculated, excluding additional paid services, on the full second-class and first-class fares for trains requiring compulsory booking (TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS, excluding OUIGO), or on the ‘Normal’ fare for INTERCITÉS trains without compulsory booking when using tickets valid for 7 days. Discounts apply within France.

The card entitles the holder to a 15 per cent discount on services, including Junior & Cie.

Terms and conditions for exchanging or refunding a ticket with the Carte Avantage on TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS trains requiring compulsory booking.

Exchange and refund service offered free of charge up to and including 7 days before departure.

From 6 days before departure, a charge of €19 per person per journey applies on TGV INOUI services, and 40 per cent of the ticket price (with a maximum charge of €15) applies on INTERCITÉS services requiring compulsory booking. From 30 minutes before departure until departure, exchanges are possible (maximum of 1) subject to the same fee as stated above.

Tickets exchanged within this timeframe are non-refundable. The fee is applied only once for journeys involving one or more connections. Tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable after the train has departed, unless the ticket has been made available again before departure. In the case of a return ticket purchase, once the outward journey has been used and/or has passed, the return journey can no longer be cancelled or refunded.

Cancellation policy

In accordance with the legal provisions in force, you have a period of 14 days from the date of purchase to exercise your right of withdrawal without having to give a reason or pay a penalty.
