An iconic lamp for the new TGV

    First introduced on TGV trains in the 1990s, the lamp has been redesigned for the new generation of TGVs. Launched to coincide with Paris Design Week, Brossier Saderne invites you to recreate a part of the travel experience in your own home.

    A minimalist design for the new TGV INOUI

    To design the lighting for the new TGV, SNCF Voyageurs brought together AREP, the SNCF Group’s agency specialising in mobility, and Nendo, a Japanese studio renowned for its minimalist and poetic design. This unique collaboration aims to create an aesthetic, comfortable and sustainable travel experience.

    The TGV lamp through the generations

    1990
    Roger Tallon has designed a lamp that is integrated into the passenger’s personal space. Both functional and intimate, it lays the foundations for a signature design that is set to evolve alongside the various generations of the TGV.
    2017
    The lamp features softer, more playful lines and a colourful palette. It goes beyond its mere function as a light source to become an instantly recognisable design piece.
    2026
    For the new TGV, AREP and Nendo have reimagined this iconic piece with a rounded, warm silhouette inspired by the home. Produced by Brossier Saderne, it now extends the journey into the home.
