Travel insurance
Before, during and after your trip, we are here to keep you informed, support you and compensate you in the event of any incident.
The Travel Guarantee applies to all journeys made within France on TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS services, and on international trains operated by SNCF Voyageurs or in partnership1.
The various types of cover
Here’s what to do:
- If you experience a delay of more than 30 minutes on a journey involving at least one TGV INOUI or INTERCITÉS service, regardless of the reason for the delay,
- Online and on your mobile, so you can submit a quick and easy claim forcompensation2,
- To provide you with a voucher that you can use for your future journeys
We’re here to help:
- To keep you informed of any timetable changes or events that may affect your journey (engineering works, industrial action, adverse weather conditions, etc.) by email and/or text message, provided you have given us your contact details when making your booking or if you are a member of the Grand Voyageur Programme.
We undertake not to use your personal data for commercial purposes. - To keep you informed in real time, at stations, on board trains, on sncf.com and via our mobile apps, or by telephone on 36 35 3 or 00 33 1 84 94 36 35 from abroad ( 4)
If your outbound train is delayed by more than an hour or cancelled, you may be offered an alternative travel arrangement or a refund, depending on your preference:
- You may continue your journey or be re-routed to your final destination under comparable conditions of travel and as soon as possible.
- You may continue your journey or be re-routed to your final destination under comparable travel conditions at a later date, at your convenience, free of charge; for example, by exchanging your ticket. You may take the same route or an alternative route, under conditions comparable to your original journey – same class, same level of comfort – subject to availability.
- You may cancel your journey and we will refund your ticket in full, including any part(s) of the journey already completed if the journey is no longer relevant to your original travel plan, as well as your return ticket, if applicable.
The Postponement or Refund Guarantee applies independently of the G30 Guarantee.
Which tickets are covered?
All tickets requiring a booking, including those with non-exchangeable/non-refundable fares.
Where can you exchange your ticket? Where can you get a refund?
- Up to 24 hours after your train’s departure, visit the station, a service centre or your authorised SNCF travel agency.
- After 24 hours, submit your refund request online at https://tout-oui.sncf.com/ or by post to SNCF Voyageurs Customer Services – 62973 ARRAS Cedex 9.
We are here to look after you, find an alternative way for you to continue your journey and, if necessary, arrange accommodation for you, should a major problem arise during your trip.
We are also on hand in such situations to provide you with a drink, a snack or a meal, depending on the time of day.
We are here to respond to any online complaints submitted to our customer service team within a maximum of one month – excluding the G30 guarantee – provided you are in possession of an e-ticket. We advise you to keep all supporting documents in a safe place.
